ACTIVE SUMMER BREAKS IN CHAMONIX VALLEY, FRANCE

Hiking:

Heaven for walkers with 330 km of marked paths at various altitudes, offering beautiful hikes and casual walks for all levels (day hikes, overnight hikes, week-long hikes). Most ski lifts are open during summer holidays in France (June - September), allowing easy access to the mountain top trails.

 

Climbing:

Chamonix is world famous for its huge range of challenging climbs in breathtaking settings. There are various bolted outdoor routes for beginner and social climbers, such as Lac Gaillands - a vast bolted outdoor climbing wall just 5 minutes from Chalet Shiraz, and Les Houches also has an indoor climbing centre. Summer ice climbing is also plentiful.

 

Mountain biking:

Chamonix offers something for all those wishing to experience mountain biking in France . Easy undulating rides, classic downhill descents and challenging uphill routes can all be enjoyed in stunning mountain settings surrounded by awesome scenery. Bikes are available for hire and can be safely stored in our chalet.

 

Paragliding:

The spectacular Chamonix Valley offers breathtaking flying with thermals often rising to 3,500m. Tandem flights are available, or paragliding courses if you want to fly solo.

Golf:

Chamonix has its own world class 18-hole golf course and 26-stand driving range. For those after a high altitude golfing holiday, there are a variety of beautiful courses, such as Megeve, Les Gets and Annecy - all within an hour's drive from Chamonix.

White Water Rafting, Canyoning, Hydrospeeding:

If water action is your thing, then a summer holiday in Chamonix is for you. Melting snow, deep and steep gorges and fast-moving white water mean adrenalin-filled, action-packed days.

Helicopter or balloon trips:

Fly high in the sky for the ultimate in views over the spectacular Chamonix Valley and its surrounding peaks.

Sports Centre:

Offering an Olympic-sized outdoor pool, surrounded on all sides by mountain views, as well as an indoor pool. Tennis and squash courts, a fitness centre and an indoor ice rink ensure you'll never run out of things to do when spending summer in Chamonix.

Other fun activities:

Horse riding, Go-Karting, Paintball, and the Adventure Park where you can walk, swing and slide between the treetops.
